| Description | Established in 1997, we are a women’s network of solidarity against militarism with participants and organizations from Japan/Okinawa, South Korea, Philippines, Puerto Rico, and the US (including Hawai'i). Through advocacy, education, and organizing, we work for genuine everyday security, and freedom from militarism, violence, and sexual exploitation. Our Fifth International Working Meeting (November 21-28, 2004) will be held in the Philippines, now undergoing new forms of militarization. We are seeking $11,200 for fares and expenses so that 4 representatives from Puerto Rico/Vieques and 4 US-based translators can participate in this gathering, exchange information and strategies, and strengthen local organizing through international collaborations. |
