| Description | Amazon Watch works to defend the environment and rights of the indigenous peoples of the Amazon basin.
We have four key programs:
1) Monitoring Mega-Projects. Track and publicize controversial mega-projects
in early planning stages to catalyze local and international response.
2) Supporting Rainforest Peoples. Mobilize direct support to affected communities and generate media and public pressure on decision-makers.
3) Influencing Investors. Pressure financial institutions and corporations to shift their investments to more sustainable alternatives.
4) Amazon Communication Team. Provide media and communications training and equipment to increase the capacity of Amazonian partner groups to defend their rights.
