| Description | The Local Democracy Project is a joint effort of the A. E. Havens Center for the Study of Social Structure and Social Change and Progressive Dane.
In our short-term work for the first International Conference on Local Democracy, we are making preparations for the growth of an aggressive movement for local democracy in the United States. This conference will feature panel discussions and breakout sessions led by experts on the respective democratic successes and disappointments in Proto Alegre, Monetvideo, London, San Francisco, Arcata, Port Arena, Madison, rural Pennsylvania, and Hartford.
